Nor-Cali Labor Day Ride 2011 The day started out like a biker movie from the 70’s. As two
groups, one heading out of Oakland and the other coming from Livermore meeting up and converging on the freeway like a swarm
of locus out to eat up the freeway. Yea baby it’s going to be a good weekend. Like other trips to the northern part
of the state we knew highway 5 can be brutally hot in the day so we decided to push on making our first major stop in Mt Shasta.
Timing is everything; just as we pulled in we found Ron & Judy in the parking lot. They had come from Yreka to escort
us the rest of the way. After some well deserved lavations and some lunch we took a leisurely ride to Yreka via some back
roads. Point of fact is we took back roads on all the rides Saturday and Sunday. OK so here is the ride review; GREAT, FABULOUS, WHAT A F__K’N MAGNIFICENT
part of the world. Being the gracious host they always are Ron & Judy planned a catered BBQ after Saturdays ride.
After riding the country side we rolled into a park next to a river where we eat drank and had a cool dip in the river. Sundays
ride was no exception; we rode to the top of Mt Shasta, or at least as far as the road went. Or nights found us at Jollies
bar where Brian & Kristie entertained us with sing and dancing. Check out the slide show pictures and hope you can join us next year. -Felix
