Meet: Randy & Annie West

Q. What do you do for a living?
A. Randy is a civil engineer since 2000 for a land development firm in Hayward.  Annie is a claims consultant since 1989 for an insurance broker in San Jose.
Q. What do you do for a Fun?
A. When we aren't working our fingers to the bone we are riding on the bike, visiting with friends.  Annie plays some video games and watches all sort of crime stuff on tv.  Randy prefers the science and history channel for tv viewing.
Q. When did you get your first bike?
A. Randy got his first motorcycle in 1978.  It was a Honda 175.  He upgraded to a Sportser in 1981. He had quite a few bikes from then to now; built several shovelheads, and a couple of drag bikes when Fremont Drags was still open and running.
Q. What type of bike do you ride now?
A. 2004 Yamaha Roadstar.  We added the big pipes and obligatory chrome but other than that it's stock.  There is also the custom luggage rack that was built so Annie can bring her blow-dryer and extra panties on our trips.  We plan to add a Quadzilla fairing by the end of the year.
Q. What is your favorite road/ride?
A. Randy loves the coast but Annie likes the Delta.  Any road that leads to a good time, quality time and just time with each other is our favorite road.  Mystery rides are fun, the Nor Cali event is the best but just about any and every monkey ride is worth while.
Q. Why is riding important to you?
A. Randy says riding is like breathing, it's just something he has to do.  Annie says he likes it cause he can't hear her bitching at him when we are doing 80 on the road.  Annie likes the ride to get away from the office and the every day crap.  It's just relaxing.
Q. Why did you become a Roadhouse Monkeys?
A. Randy met Skip out at the Florence and the rest is history.  Annie became a monkette after her first Redwood Run.  Randy became a monkey because he likes the Un-Club attitude and the freedoms that come with it.  Friends with out politics.
Q. Any Other Comments?
A. Randy and Annie both want to say how honored they are to have met and rode with every monkey and monkette for the last 4 years.  We've enjoyed every ride, party, dinner, BBQ overnighter and fire side chat.  Cherished memories, great friends and a hell of an Un Club.
