Bonnie Raitt, Road Tested, This self-titled DVD was filmed and recorded live
at the Paramount Theater, in Oakland California. What a great Artist and an excellent disc.
If you like slide guitar Miss Raitt is slide guitarist extraordinaire. This is a fine piece of work, tunesmithing at
its best. The songs Bonnie pens are so personal and heart felt. With tunes like, Lets Give ‘Em Something
To Talk About, Love me like a Man; you can really feel the honesty and sincerity Bonnie has for the music. There
is something seductive watching this woman do her thing, a very confident performer. She shares the stage
with guest artist like Bruce Hornsby playing accordion of all things on, I can’t make you Love me,
a well-known blues ballad covered by Ann Wilson a couple of years ago. B.R. also mixes it up with Bryan Adams and Jackson
Browne. After watching her duet with Ruth Brown and husband Charles on the keys, you can’t help but
smile with Never Make Your Move Too Soon. This is a blues Album, but not the kind like cry in your beer
blues, but a really upbeat happy disc. Bonnie Raitt has always stayed true to the music and never strayed from her Delta blues
roots, going full circle the world comes back to Bonnie Raitt with Road Tested. On the scale of 1-5, I
give this disc a 6. -Lo D. February-2008
