While heading north and south on 101, is a small town called
Salinas. The truth of the matter is I’ve never had anything
nice to say about the town of Salinas, until now. Salinas for most part is a town to get through has quickly has possible, sure there is the Steinbeck museum,
but even that hasn’t been enough to apply brakes in that area.
When visiting
Salinas recently I had a powerful thirst to take care of, I thought of old town Salinas. I found a small brewery with a good
selection of food. This is within walking distance to the Steinbeck Museum. The building is an old brick building with open ceilings, large steel tanks and looks like it’s held
up through the California Earthquakes. The beer selection is great, and sampling some of the crafts took care of that burning thirst that I had. The Brewery had quite a few people dining, which gave me the impression that the food
must be good. I glanced at the menu, and the items looked exciting. Entrees cost
$8 -25 with most running about $15. Appetizers and desserts average $7. Live
music can be found on some nights, (double check 1st if the music is a must). Parking
is a mixed bag, some spots can be found outside of the establishment, and however this is a downtown area and can fill up. This is a biker friendly place, so stop on in and have a frosty. This Monkey gives
it 4 bananas.
