As for installation issues I had none.
1. Read then reread and follow the directions and you will have them done in no time.
2. Have your new chubby bars and all parts and accessories ready and laid out in an organized manner.
This includes tools, new cables and clamps, Loctite, etc. This is a good time to upgrade your hand controls and switch covers
to chrome or a custom style if you so desire.
3. Make sure you have an old
blanket folded several times to cover your tank, front fender and headlamp assy. This is to prevent any damage if you accidently
drop the bars.
When you finish your installation don’t get in a hurry to test drive the bike this is where you want to make
sure you check and recheck your work. Double check your fasteners, clamps, cable adjustments and clearance, all mounting bolts
and all electrical items and lights to see if they are working properly. Bleed the brakes if needed, check and recheck faring
clearance and interference with anything. This is very important. Turn handle bars full lock both ways to make sure of the
clearance.
Assembly time will very depending on your model of bike and style of bars you choose.
If you want
to save a couple dollars you can also ask John if they have any blemished bars in the style you want. I had a pair that I
could not find the blemish. Don’t forget to check out their new style bars and clamps.
