Meet Dave Scott
Q. What do you do for a living?
A. For the last 25 years
I have worked in manufacturing. For the last 20 years I have had the distinguishing title of Mill Department Manager. Whatever!
Basically it means I wear a lot of hats and take a lot of shit when things don't happen as they're planned. I actually like
it though. Being under pressure and responsible for my actions as well as my crew is a challenge I can't get enough of. However,
I seem to have a real affection for Scotch when I get home. Hum...
Q. For fun?
A. Obviously I like to ride.
My wife Andrea enjoys as well. She's my best friend and we tend to do most things together when we're not working to maintain
our habits. Motorcycle road racing is big on my list. I get out to Willow Springs Raceway as often as I can to get my fix.
It's too bad Harley Davidson got out of road racing but I can always find Privateers out at the races on either Buells or
Sporties running in the Battle of the Twins class.
Q. When did you get your first bike?
A. My first bike showed up
in 1969 and was a Honda Mini-trail 50. My parents surprised me with it when I got home from school one day. I grew up in a
family of avid cyclists. If you have ever seen On Any Sunday before, then you've seen my upbringing. We were a family of six,
my parents, two sisters, my brother and me. Every weekend we were out riding, my mom in her bandana and cat eye sun glasses,
it was too cool! Ever since, I've never been without at least one bike.
Q. What type of bike do you ride now?
A. I have five bikes at present
and they all run!!! As far as what kind of bike I ride, I guess it depends on the flip of a coin and the terrain to be conquered.
My newest ride is my first ever Harley. Yeah!!! It's a '99 Roadking that I picked up in San Ramon. Gerry B. was kind enough
to back as far as Paso Robles with me. Hopefully I can get it up to your neck of the woods soon to show. Perhaps the Isleton
ride. Also in the garage are, a '03 Suzuki TL1000R, a 1969 Yamaha AT1, a '73 Honda Trail 90 and a '76 Honda Trail 70. They're
the needle in my arm.
Q. What is your favorite road/ride?
A. My favorite roads, hum...
Having grown up in Ventura and then
moving to Arroyo Grande (next to Pismo Beach), I've seen more favorite roads than I can comprehend. The
choices and types of rides seem endless. If I were to pick one
Highway it would have to be Highway 33 from Maricopa to Ojai.
Check it out on pashnit.com.
Q. How did you hear about the Roadhouse Monkeys?
A. It's all Gerry B's fault.
Q. Any Other Comment?
A. Andrea and I look forward
to your roads as well as showing you ours. Let’s go!!!
